Practical priorities. Real opportunities. A Vaughan that works for everyone.
A city where young people can build their futures, families can afford to live and businesses can grow. Shelly’s priorities focus on opportunity for our youth, transportation, affordability, responsible growth, small businesses, community safety and accountable government.
Because Vaughan is ours—and its future should work for all of us.
Our young people belong in Vaughan’s future—and deserve opportunities today.
Young people should be able to see a future for themselves in Vaughan. Shelly wants our city to be a place where they can develop skills, find meaningful work, explore skilled trades, start businesses and build careers close to home.
Her approach brings the City, local businesses, educational institutions and community organizations together to strengthen pathways to training, internships, apprenticeships, mentorship and employment. It starts with listening to young people and making their ideas and experiences part of the conversation.
Our City. Our Turn.
Less time in traffic. More time living your life.
Vaughan residents spend too much of their day stuck in traffic. Shelly’s approach focuses on smarter traffic management, better coordination of signals and road improvements, and planning transportation infrastructure alongside new development.
She will work with York Region and other levels of government to strengthen transit connections and address major bottlenecks. The goal is to make everyday trips—to work, school, local businesses and home—easier across Vaughan.
Every tax dollar should serve the people who contribute it.
Families, seniors and households across Vaughan are feeling the pressure of rising costs. Shelly will push for disciplined municipal spending, closer scrutiny of unnecessary expenses and better value from the services residents fund.
She will examine practical ways to reduce or offset municipal costs and fees, while ensuring growth contributes fairly to the infrastructure and services it needs. Residents deserve clear information about where their money goes and what it delivers.
Growth should strengthen our neighbourhoods and support everyday life.
New homes and development need roads, transportation, utilities, parks and services that can support them. Shelly believes these needs should be planned alongside growth, with careful consideration for the people moving in and the communities already there.
Her approach supports responsible development that respects existing neighbourhoods and protects important green spaces. Infrastructure planning should keep pace with development so Vaughan can grow as a connected, well-served city.
Start here. Grow here. Succeed here.
Small businesses create jobs, strengthen neighbourhoods and bring opportunity close to home. Shelly wants Vaughan to be a place where entrepreneurs can start, operate and grow a business with clearer information and more practical support.
Her priorities include reducing unnecessary red tape, making City Hall easier to navigate and improving awareness of available grants, rebates and incentives. Vaughan should attract new investment while helping the businesses already here succeed.
Everyone deserves to feel safe and connected in their neighbourhood.
Shelly will support community safety initiatives and work with York Regional Police, community organizations and residents to understand and address local concerns. Listening to neighbourhood experiences is essential to identifying where attention is needed.
Safety also means well-maintained parks and public spaces, appropriate lighting, safer streets and crossings, and places where people feel comfortable gathering. Families, seniors and young people should be able to participate confidently in community life.
Clear decisions. Responsible spending. Results residents can see.
Residents deserve to understand how City Hall spends public money, makes major decisions and measures progress. Shelly will push for greater transparency, clearer reporting and meaningful opportunities for residents and businesses to be heard.
Her approach focuses on responsive service, practical problem-solving and following through. City initiatives should be assessed by the results they deliver, with clear explanations of what is working, what needs improvement and what comes next.
